The Rip Chip
A faster, easier way to tune your bike to suit your riding style and terrain.
There are many like it, but here's what makes ours unique
As mountain bikes continue to zero in on that proverbial "sweet spot", riders should expect features that offer a meaningful difference in a bike's personality, are easy to use, and make no concessions on ride quality. The new Rip Chip delivers on all three; easy adjustability between two distinct ride characteristics, posing no detriment to the levarage rate, or the "feel" of the rear suspension.
Iterate, destroy, improve
Years of development has taught us that the values above are ideal to transform a lively, dynamic trail bike into something slightly more sinister. After two decades of testing and four iterations, the new Rip Chip throws a fresh set of ideas at a proven design to deliver the best on-trail experience that money can buy.
Independent variable control
These days, most brands offer token levels of adjustment - inserts that adjust chainstay length while quietly altering travel, or those that adjust geometry while simultaneously changing the leverage rate curve. These knock-on effects are hardly discussed as they are concessions made in the name of "adjustability". Unlike others, the Rip Chip isolates frame geometry from leverage rate, maintaining that distinctly supportive, bottomless feel that Evil is known for in both geometry positions.
Purposeful Minimalism
Over the past decade, mountain bikes have improved dramatically. Today, even baseline platforms deliver exceptional ride quality. The question is no longer whether performance can be improved, but how that improvement is pursued.
Some brands answer with further complexity, rolling out features that require specialty parts, tools, and knowledge to service.
Our approach is different. We focus on refining proven systems, reducing unnecessary complexity, and improving user serviceability. The result is a bike that performs at the highest level while remaining intuitive to maintain.
Spoiler alert. We did it.
With every piece of frame hardware redesigned, we took the opportunity to build something better. Serviceability is as much a part of rider experience as on-trail performance. The new Rip Chip delivers a simpler, more deliberate way to choose your setup—cleaner, clearer, and easier to live with.
